The Lawmaker, representing Borgu-Agwara Federal Constituency of Niger, Alhaji Jafaru Mohammed, has pledged to collaborate with Agwara Local Government Council to ensure rapid infrastructural development of the area.

Mohammed made this known during a courtesy visit on the council chairman, Alhaji Nura Kokoli, in Agwara on Wednesday.

“I will work with the council to ensure rapid infrastructural development of Agwara,’’ he said.

The House of Representative member said that as a representative of the people, development of the area was paramount on his agenda, hence the need for a cordial working relationship with the council.

“If we work as a team we will achieve a lot in terms of development for our people.

“We will continue to pursue, with vigour, the rapid development of Agwara local government area to enable it to compete favourably with other local government areas in the state.’’

He said that Agwara would soon be connected to the National grid, adding that work on the electrification project “is almost completed’’.

The lawmaker then commended the efforts of the state government under the leadership of the Gov. Abubakar Bello for linking the area to the national grid.

He called for a good working relationship between the council boss and staff as well as other stakeholders to achieve the desired results.

Mohammed also enjoined the staff of the council to rededicate themselves to their duty post for effective service delivery.

The lawmaker, however, appealed to the people of Agwara to cooperate with all the political office holders in the area toward taking the council to greater heights.

In his respond, Kokoli promised to give the lawmaker the necessary support to collectively develop the area and improve the living standard of the people.

“Your words of advice will propel me to work with you in order to develop and improve the living standard of our people, the council boss said.
