One person is said to have been killed and another injured in a motor accident which occurred on Monday along the IBB way, near Women Development Centre, Uyo.
The accident involved a Mack truck belonging to AMITEC construction company with number plate KPR321XA and a KVS King tricycle with number plate, JW740KET.
The Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Matthew Olonisaye, in a statement on Monday attributed the cause of the accident to brake failure.
He advised vehicles owners to take the maintenance of their vehicles seriously adding that the command would continue to be hard on vehicles owners that compromise on this.
“Vehicle owners should not take maintenance of their vehicles for granted. The Sector Command will continue to be hard on the owner of vehicles that are not roadworthy. Road users should obey traffic rules and regulations and continue to cooperate with our operatives to minimize road mishaps,” Olonisaye said.
