Group demands immediate sack of NSCDC commandant

The Controller-General (CG)of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ahmed Audi, has set up a committee of enquiry to investigate individuals or group of persons behind the ‘fake’ 2019/2021 replacement and recruitment supplementary list currently in circulation on social media.

The Unified Nigerian Youth Forum (UNYF) has demanded the immediate sack of the Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Dr Ahmed Audi.

The group in a statement issued by its President, Comrade Abdulsalam Moh’d Kazeem, threatened a nationwide protest if President Muhammadu Buhari fails to act on its demand.

The Forum accused the Commandant of transferring many professional, patriotic, committed and brave commanders of the Corps out of strategic position/commands and replacing them with his puppets, who lack the required professional qualities to occupy such sensitive positions.

The statement read: “The leadership of Unified Nigerian Youth Forum (UNYF) has been following with keen interest on the allegations raised against the current Commandant General of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), where contractors and other stakeholders from within were left with no option than to come out publicly and voice out on the current happening, which includes; unprofessional conduct, contract/job racketeering, favouritism, administrative bribe and others forms of bad leadership.

“The current administration of President Mohammadu Buhari has zero-tolerance for all forms of corruptions at all levels of governance, but to our greatest surprise, the Nigerian Security and Civil defence corps is the corruption hub of Nigeria under the leadership of Mr Audi, in less than a year of his headship.

“Considering the country’s recent experience against banditry, cattle rustling and all other forms of insecurity confronting us as a nation, the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps are expected to support our Armed Forces, the Nigerian police and other sister security outfits in tackling crime rate, terrorism and fight against theft of our crude oils/national assets, considering their budgetary allocation year in year out, yet the only good thing the current administration could get from Mr Audi is the deployment of officers loyal to him and not the nation, this is a scandal and it’s unacceptable at any rate.

“The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps is on a mission to compromise all youth groups across the country in order to stop them from exposing his act of corrupt practices.

“The time is now and President Muhammadu Buhari must act to save the NSCDC from Dr Ahmed Audi because the service has become a cesspool of corruption and maladministration.

“We as an organised forum (Unified Nigerian Youth Forum) has chosen not to compromise on its noble ideals and principles of fighting corruption and individuals who are derailing the Anti-corruption crusade of President Buhari led administration.

“Failure of Mr president to act now, Unified Nigerian Youth Forum (UNYF) will not hesitate to carry out massive protests across the country, if President Buhari refused to act by sacking Dr Ahmed Audi as the Commandant General of NSCDC.

“It should be on record for historical purposes that (UNYF) dissociate and disaffiliate itself from the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) because it has become a willing tool and stooge for corrupt public office holders at the detriment of Nigerians and the current administration.”
