The Coalition of Civil Society Network (NCSN) has accused the leadership of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) of job racketeering.
Addressing a press conference in Kaduna on Thursday, the coalition’s chairman, Comrade Zakari Hashim, accused the Corps of commercialising appointments during recruitments.
The coalition also described the recent action by the NSCDC publishing the newly purchased arms on its official website as unprofessional.
It urged the NSCDC and relevant security agencies to stop revealing their crime-fighting plans and strategies, adding that “enemies may use the second thought.”
The coalition passed a ‘vote of no confidence’ on the leadership of the NSCDC and FRSC, saying it has reports stating that money is offered to secure appointment letters to most ministries, departments and agencies.
The coalition called for the immediate sack of the NSCDC and FRSC commandants. It also urged the National Assembly to investigate the activities of the NSCDC, FRSC and other sister agencies
“We shall continue to work under this platform of Coalition of Civil Society Network to ensure that Nigeria succeeds in a quest to restore the lost confidence in the system of the Nigerian Youths,” Comrade Hashim said.
