Death toll of Lagos building collapse now 38

The death toll from the collapse of a high-rise building in an upscale area of Nigeria’s commercial capital Lagos has risen to 36, the emergency services said on Thursday.

The Death toll at Ikoyi collapsed building site has now risen to 38 as rescuers bring out two male bodies, The Nation has learnt.

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) acting Southwest Coordinator, Ibrahim Farinloye, said on Thursday afternoon.

As of 9 am on Thursday, the number of those confirmed dead were 36.
