Customer returns N118,000 to bookshop, 24hrs after PoS reversal

An Ibadan, Oyo State-based educationist, Saheed Oladele, Friday, returned N118,000 to a book shop in the Oyo State capital after receiving a reversal of the amount which he had paid for books about 24 hours after leaving the bookshop.

Oladele, the CEO of Erudite Millenium Limited, a foremost language service and training company in Nigeria, while narrating the incident on his Facebook page said he had gone to a popular bookshop, Mosuro, The Booksellers Ltd in Jericho, Ibadan, on Tuesday, to buy some new books in his field of study.

According to him, he has paid the amount for 16 books on neurolinguistics, applied linguistics, etc through a Point of Sale, PoS, machine and left without any traces, after he was debited.

Oladele said less than 24 hours on Wednesday, he received a reversal alert of the same amount paid for the books and was disturbed because the bookshop had no means of contacting him.

Oladele said he was relieved after a friend told him not to bother himself, assuring that the reversal would be corrected with 24 hours.

He said after waiting for over 24 hours for the reversal to be corrected, he had to work into the bookshop to return the N118,000 to the booksellers.

Oladele wrote, “Today, (Friday) I returned N118,000 to the Booksellers at Jericho, Ibadan. I went there on Tuesday to check the latest books in my field. Fortunately, I saw a couple of books on neurolinguistics, applied linguistics, etc. I paid for them and left.

“On Wednesday at 1.02 pm, I got a reversal alert of the N118,000 I paid for the books. I was a little disturbed because they had no means of contacting me. However, a friend told me not to bother that the reversal would be corrected within 24 hours.

“I waited and waited; no debit alert! I had to go this afternoon. The staff members were really happy. They said they had never experienced POS reversal.”
