Baptist pastors hail Israel Akanji as new NBC president, Gwana Dogara on FCT conference

The Pastors’ Conference of the Nigerian Baptist Convention (NBC) has felicitated with Revd. Israel Adelani Akanji and Revd. Gwana Raphael Dogara on their emergence as President of the Nigerian Baptist Convention and President of the FCT respectively

The Pastors’ Conference of the Nigerian Baptist Convention (NBC) has felicitated with Revd. Israel Adelani Akanji and Revd. Gwana Raphael Dogara on their emergence as President of the Nigerian Baptist Convention and President of the Federal Capital Territory Baptist Conference respectively.

The pastors urge the duo to use their position to unite the entire Baptist family, saying that with their track record of excellence and integrity, they are round pegs in round holes.

In a statement signed by Revd. Dr John Arierhi Ottuh, National Secretary, Pastors’ Conference, Nigerian Baptist Convention for the Pastors’ Representative Council, group called on them to stand for the truth and do what is right for the advancement of the system.

According to the group, “we use this opportunity to encourage you both to continue to unite the entire Baptist Family as you pilot the affairs of the Nigerian Baptist Convention and the Federal Capital Territory Baptist Conference respectively. Always stand for the truth and do what is right and good for the progress of the system.”

The group added, “with your track record of excellence and integrity, we believe that you are round pegs meant for the round holes. Your emergence is the Lord’s doing and it is marvellous in our eyes.”

The Pastors’ Conference and the Representative Council of the Nigerian Baptist Convention prayed God to give the duo the wherewithal good health and anointing to carry on with the onerous task ahead, adding: “We pray that God Almighty will give you the required anointing and wisdom with which to carry out the task ahead. We also pray for good health for you and your families, May the work of the kingdom prosper in your hands in Jesus name.”
