Governor Aminu Bello Masari of Katsina State on Thursday paid a sympathy visit to victims of the Tuesday farmer-herder clash in Gora village of Safana Local Government Area of the state.
Masari appealed to the people of the area to live peacefully with one another and be security conscious, urging them to expose bad eggs in their midst.
The governor made the appeal at the palace of the District Head of Safana, Alhaji Sada Rufa’I.
He charged the residents to be ready to provide security agents with information that would help in exposing miscreants in their communities.
“Harbouring children and wards with criminal tendencies will only compound the situation and we must try to protect the communities and ourselves,” he said.
The governor said that the government was working round the clock to support security operatives to secure lives and property in the state.
Responding, Alhaji Rufa’i called for collaboration amongst inhabitants of the local government area by providing necessary information to the security agencies.
He called on the herders and farmers in his domain to live peacefully with one another in other to enjoy dividends of democracy.
NAN recalled that 11 persons lost their lives following the Tuesday clash between farmers and herders in Gora village of Safana council of the state on Tuesday.
