A group of suspected Fulani herdsmen stormed Gerreng village in Girei Local Government Area of Adamawa State, killing one person and injuring three others.
The dead, whose name was not immediately available, was reported to have died from gunshot wound sustained during the attack.
The other victims of the recent vicious attack by the Fulani militia are currently battling to save their lives at the Yola Specialist Hospital after they were evacuated from Borrong Cottage Hospital for elaborate medical attention.
According to reports made available to correspondent, the young men were initially fishing in a pond around the village when the Fulani gunmen laid ambush and opened fire on them.
The attack is coming barely a month after a group of Fulani men attacked Kwayeni and two other communities in Demsa Local Government Area of the state.
Koh and Kadomun communities in Girei and Demsa Local Government Areas respectively had suffered a similar fate in the hands of the Fulani men.
Tension is said to be mounting among the affected communities.
The inhabitants are said to be spoiling for a fight to avenge the death of their beloved ones.
The communities are visibly worried that the Gerreng attack is coming on the heels of a peace pact reached between the communities and the Fulani herdsmen to give peace a chance.
The communities have also implied official conspiracy in dealing with the security issues affecting them saying that before the attack, they had reported suspicious mass movement of the Fulanis within the area to the authorities.
At the time of this report, it was not clear if security men have been drafted to the area or any arrest made.
However the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Abubakar Othman, confirmed the attacks.
Othman said policemen have been deployed to maintain law and order in the area.
