Jigawa: Police arrests two cattle rustlers

Police in Jigawa State has arrested two suspected cattle rustlers in Hadejia Local Government Area.

Spokesman of the Command ASP Lawan Shiisu Adam confirmed the arrest to newsmen.

He said five suspected hoodlums on Thursday at about 04:30amm went to Sabon Sara Fulani settlement and stole two cows.

Adam said the Suspects were pursued by youths in the area and abandoned the stolen cows.

He explained that two suspects were arrested while the remaining three escaped.

The spokesman said those arrested are 26-year old Aliyu Muhammad and 25-year-old Danjummai all of Hadejia town.

He said in the process some angry mob set the golf 3 Wagon of the suspected cattle rustlers ablaze.

Adam said efforts are ongoing to arrest the fleeing suspects and angry mob.
