French forces free American, South Korean in Burkina Faso

French servicemen, engaged in the Operation Barkhane in Africa's Sahel region, have neutralized around 30 terrorists in Mali, the French Armed Forces Ministry said.

French forces have freed four foreign hostages in Burkina Faso, according to French government.

But the Forces lost two soldiers during the rescue operation.

Two of the people released were French while the other two were said to be an American and a South Korean.

The hostages were kidnapped in the neighbouring country of Benin in May.
