Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, has declared the founder of AbokiFX, Oniwinde Adedotun, wanted, describing him as an illegal FX dealer.
Emefiele disclosed this while answering to questions at the end of the 280th Monetary policy (MPC) meeting of the apex bank in Abuja on Friday, saying that Adedotun will be prosecuted for endangering the Nigerian economy.
The CBN governor further stated that those who had grievances about the announcement should proceed to the Central Bank Of Nigeria headquarters to meet with him.
He said: “I have given instructions to our experts to go after his website and let it be clear that we will go after him because we can’t allow this to continue.
“I heard that it is making news on social media, I am not on social media but let him come and meet me in Central bank, let him show his face.
“Those who feel they want to support him to fight, come out let’s fight.”
Recall that on Friday, the Federal Government shut down the operations of Aboki FX, a website providing currency exchange information.
AbokiFX is a website that publishes the parallel market exchange rate of the naira against other currencies.
